Designed out of frustration in the mushy summer waves, the Rocket Fish is a super well-riding board, great for everything head-knee, holding it's own in some overhead as well.
This board has a lower staged rocker for speed to get through the mush or closed out sections. It has a wide template with a centered wide point, and a trimmed, but wide nose that makes a great balance between lift and turnablity. The narrower tipped swallow tail also creates great hold, balanced with release from the swallow tails wide cut out.
The bottom contours feature a really deep single concave that starts just after the nose (12") of the board, and gradually turns to a really deep double concave starting just after the mid point going through the tail (and getting slightly more shallow off the tail). This makes for a fast and easily controlled board, both for speed and turning.
With slightly pinched rails throughout, with 60/40's in the mid section that feel like 50/50's blending in hard edged 80/20's out the back. These 50/50 rails make for unique and epic rail to rail experience, allowing you to really feel the wave beneath you.
You can pretty much nose ride this thing, or at least cheater five with relative ease, or have a nice cruisy rail to rail ride in the mid section, or get a strong back footed session and ride with a lot of performance, snap, and power.
This board is a super solid one-board quiver for the cruisey rider; and super quiver addition for the advanced surfer looking for a performance driven fish to ride that's totally different from the norm. It's an ultimate board for the novice who is looking to advance their game. A shaper's favorite, works in everything.
